update update

1. a. i dyed my hair. finally after contemplating for more than 15 years?! my stylist Detty from onepiece hair studio did this "airtouch natural light brown" on my hair and i'm loving it! (maybe i'll post a photo sometimes later!) b. we were supposed to celebrate my birthday in australia, but sadly, because of the whole covid19 thing, the trip was postponed. so went for a roller skare adventure and a nice dinner at lawry the prime rib instead :) it was a good day overall and i really enjoyed the food so much i had a food coma afterwards!

2. high-tea at raffles hotel. i really think high tea is one of my favourite things in the world. perhaps because my love language is quality time, i just love to sit and chat with my closest ones for hours while eating yummy cake and sipping tea. it is such a relaxing activity, especially when you do it with the people that you love!

3.  I finally gave in and use kindle to read! the reason being is because I couldn't go to the library or bookstore during this pandemic, and it will take 2 weeks for the books to arrive on my doorstep if I purchase them online. my kindle came in a week! I must admit that I kinda fall in love with how convenient it is. I'm currently reading my second e-book by one of my favorite self-help guru, Brene Brown!

4. march and april books: 10% happier by dan harris and you're a badass at making money by jen sincero. these two books are so good! some of the takeaways i took from the books :

10% happier by dan harris

“Make the present moment your friend rather than your enemy. Because many people live habitually as if the present moment were an obstacle that they need to overcome in order to get to the next moment. And imagine living your whole life like that, where always this moment is never quite right, not good enough because you need to get to the next one. That is continuous stress."

“Striving is fine, as long as it’s tempered by the realization that, in an entropic universe, the final outcome is out of your control. If you don’t waste your energy on variables you cannot influence, you can focus much more effectively on those you can. When you are wisely ambitious, you do everything you can to succeed, but you are not attached to the outcome—so that if you fail, you will be maximally resilient, able to get up, dust yourself off, and get back in the fray. That, to use a loaded term, is enlightened self-interest.”

you're a badass at making money by jennifer sincerio :

“Worrying is praying for stuff you don't want.”

“We’ve been raised to believe that you have to work hard to make money, and certainly there are times when this is true, but the real secret is you have to take huge, uncomfy risks. You have to do stuff you’ve never done before, to make yourself visible, to acknowledge your own”

“When it comes to changing your life, if you’re not scared, you’re doing something wrong.”

“You cannot make this big change in your life and expect nothing around you to change, especially your relationships with other people.”

also, i suggest listening to megan batoon podcast!

5.  iso killing time ideas: boardgames.
I love playing board games with friends! we did quite a few times before the circuit breaker rules were tightened to "no more visiting friends & family" :( but we still can play two players boardgames like citadels or duel.

recommended boardgames: citadels, duel, dixit, saboteur,  clue.

happy sunday all :)
